WALLS and COLUMN BASES 2009

Week One

The south foundation wall was uncovered.

The northeast corner of the foundation wall was revealed and the sole from an adult boot was found in the area trench.

Locker room column base excavation near the west edge of Swim Tank was completed for the time being.

Week Two

Great progress was made by teams uncovering and
creating trenches along the south wall.

Week Three

Work started along the north central foundation wall.

Column Base 2008

The column bases uncovered during the 2008 season were supported by surprisingly deep concrete wall footings which extended down more than six feet below grade and flared out to a larger rectangular base nearly eight feet in total depth.
